Are you ready to learn about an amazing program that makes a big difference in the lives of dogs and their families? Let me introduce you to Mom’s Spay Day, a special project by the Martha Decker Fund for Animals. Our mission is to assist animals in Izard, Fulton, and Sharp Counties in Arkansas, and Mom’s Spay Day is one of our most important initiatives.
You might wonder why spaying dogs is so important. Well, let me tell you! When a dog has a litter of puppies, it can be quite overwhelming for their family. Taking care of all those little ones requires a lot of time, effort, and money. In addition, spaying helps reduce the risk of certain health issues and behavioral problems, making your dog happier and healthier in the long run. That’s where Mom’s Spay Day comes in to help. Since 2016, we have been providing vouchers to help families spay their dogs.
In the first year alone, we assisted 42 dogs with our vouchers. And the best part? After the moms were spayed, they were able to go back home healthy and safe, without the worry of more litters. It’s a win-win situation for everyone involved!
At the Martha Decker Fund, our main focus has always been promoting spaying and neutering. Why? Because it’s the answer to a big problem: pet overpopulation. When dogs have too many litters, it puts a strain on animal shelters and rescues. By spaying dogs, we can help prevent unwanted litters and give homeless dogs a better chance at finding loving homes.
Mom’s Spay Day is our longest-running project, and it’s aimed at spaying “at-risk” female dogs. These are dogs that have already had a litter of puppies or are likely to have one soon if they’re not spayed. In 2020 alone, we covered the cost of spaying more than 65 dogs through this program. That’s a lot of potential litters prevented!
We’re fortunate to work with some amazing vet clinics for our voucher projects. They play a crucial role in providing the necessary medical care to spay the dogs. We’re grateful for their support and dedication to this cause.
Let me share a heartwarming story with you. Meet Saphira, a dog who was born with only three feet. Despite her physical challenge, she’s a happy dog. But to make her life even better, we spayed her. This will ensure that she won’t have any litters in the future, allowing her to enjoy a life of ease without any added responsibilities. Saphira’s mom reached out to us for help, and we were thrilled to help them.
If you need help with spaying your pets, don’t hesitate to reach out to us. Our goal is to provide assistance and prevent situations where litters of puppies are given away or abandoned.
At the Martha Decker Fund, we want to put an end to the cycle of unwanted dog litters. We aim to help homeless dogs in the Tri-County area, and we need your support to make a real impact. Your donations go a long way in funding programs like Mom’s Spay Day, allowing us to assist more families and prevent the overpopulation of dogs.
Remember, every small act of kindness matters. Whether it’s donating to our cause, spreading the word about the importance of spaying and neutering, or reaching out to us if you need help, you can be a part of the solution. Together, we can create a community where dogs are cared for, loved, and given the chance to thrive in safe and happy homes.
So, join us in making a difference. Help us promote Mom’s Spay Day and our mission to support animals in Izard, Fulton, and Sharp Counties. Together, we can change lives, one spay at a time. Let’s work towards a future where no more litters are born, and every dog has a loving family to call their own. Together, we can make a paw-sitive impact in our community!
